Your plaster is cracked, do you need Painters Edmonton’s plaster repair service or you want to do it yourself.
Plaster is rock hard substance which is applied to the walls and ceilings of nearly every house. It’s a soft mixture of lime with sand or cement and water for spreading on walls, ceilings, or other structures to form a smooth hard surface when dried. This gives the surfaces that are seamless, mold resistant, fire resistant, and noise deadening.
Why does this happen?
If the interior and exterior of your home is finished plastered and old and not renovated over the last 20 or 30 years, the cuts can be seen, or that may feel hollow or loose and moves when you press it.
Most small cracks in plaster walls are not a very serious problem and are caused by seasonal expansion and contraction of the wood framing in your house over time. They’re often found in the corners of window and door frames and can be patched using the spackling or joint compound.
That often crack if apply it without proper preparation or if it is too old. Plastered walls have a tendency to develop stress cracks.
